Rental Use
Q. Can tourists from overseas rent kimonos?
Of course you can. The plan also includes dressing and hair styling, so don't worry.
Q. Is there anything I need to bring on the day?
Nothing in particular. Everything you need is included in the plan.
Q. I am pregnant. Can I wear a kimono?
Due to the need to tie the waist cord, we ask that pregnant women refrain from wearing the kimono.
Q. Does height matter when wearing a kimono?
If you are over 165cm tall, the cuffs may be too short.
If you are under 140cm tall, the sleeves may be too short.
However, it is possible to dress someone regardless of height.
Q. What happens if I lose an accessory that I rented?
We will charge 1 yen for each small item lost.
Q. Is there anything I should be careful of when wearing a kimono?
We recommend that you come wearing clothes that are easy to change into.
Rental Plan
Q. What is included in the plan?
Kimono, obi, underwear, undershirt, accessories (you can choose)
Q. Can I rent yukata all year round?
Yukata are available from June to September and may change depending on the weather.
Q. What happens if I forget my student ID when using the student discount plan with my friends?
As a general rule, please bring your student ID.
Q. Can junior high school students apply for the student plan?
Yes, it applies. Anyone of any age can apply if they show their student ID. Please don't forget to bring it with you.
Reservation
Q. Is it possible to make a reservation on the day?
If there is availability, you can make a reservation on the day. Reservations must be made online.
Q. Can I rent immediately if I go to the store without making a reservation?
Depending on the reservation situation, we may have to change the time. We recommend that you make a reservation in advance online.
Q. Can I make a reservation over the phone?
Please note that we may not be able to answer your phone depending on how busy we are, so please make your reservation online.
Q. What happens if I am late for my reservation?
If you exceed 20 minutes, you will be asked to reschedule.
Reservation changes and cancellations
Q. Can I change the reservation plan, number of people, time, etc.?
Please cancel and reschedule your reservation in advance, or let us know at the reception on the day.
Q. Can I change the date after completing the reservation?
Please cancel your reservation and then make a new one.
Q. Will there be a cancellation fee if I cancel at short notice?
There is a 1% cancellation fee one day before and a 50% cancellation fee on the day.
Payments
Q.What payment methods can I use?
We only accept cash.
Payment cannot be made by credit card or electronic money.
Q: Can I get a receipt?
Please inform a member of staff when paying the bill.
Kimono and dressing
Q. How long does it take from choosing a kimono to departure?
Generally, we will guide you in about an hour, but this may vary depending on the congestion situation.
Q. Can I wear my own kimono?
Please note that we will not allow you to bring your own kimono and have them dressed.
Q. Can I see the kimono the day before my reservation?
We apologize, but we would appreciate it if you would refrain from doing so.
Q. Can I wear men's or women's kimonos regardless of my gender?
Yes, this is possible. Please enquire at the reception.
Hair styling and makeup
Q. Is makeup included in the plan?
Not included. Hair styling only.
Q. How long does it take to style my hair?
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but this may vary depending on how busy the place is.
Q. How can I have my hair styled?
You can choose from 8 types or samples such as bob arrangements.
Q. Is there a limit to the number of hair accessories I can wear?
Generally, our staff will make suggestions, but there is no limit to the number, so please let our staff know if you have any requests.
Q. I have short hair. Can you style it for me?
We will set your hair to suit your mood.
Q. Can I wear decorations that I brought?
We can provide it to you, but we cannot take responsibility for any loss.
Return
Q. What time is the return deadline?
Please return the item by 17:30pm on the day of rental. If you return the item after that time, a late fee will be charged. (A late fee of 5 yen will be charged for every 500 minutes.)
Q. Can I return the item the day after I rent it?
Yes, you can. The fee is an additional 2000 yen and a 5000 yen deposit. The deposit will be returned to you the next day when you return the item.
Q. If I am unable to return the item on the rental day, can I change my plan to return it the next day?
No. You can change to a next-day return plan when you visit the store, but you cannot change this after the rental.
Luggage storage
Q. Can I leave my clothes and shoes while I'm renting the kimono?
Yes, you can. You will be given a bag at the reception desk. We will keep your belongings except valuables at the store during the rental period.
Other Information
Q. Can I bring my pet into the store?
We are very sorry, but we do not allow pets in the store.
Q. If the bottom of my pants gets muddy on a rainy day, will I have to pay for it?
There is no additional charge for minor mud splashes on rainy days. You can still enjoy strolling around Asakusa even on rainy days.
